Dr. Kimberly Goodwin is currently the Parham Bridges Chair of Real Estate and an Associate Professor of Finance at the University of Southern Mississippi.  She holds a B.S. in Geophysics from the University of Delaware, a M.B.A. from the University of Southern Mississippi, a M.S. in Finance from the George Washington University, and a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of Alabama.  Dr. Goodwin’s research focuses on real estate markets and real estate investment trusts and has been published in some of the top real estate journals.  She has presented her research at national conferences of the American Real Estate Society, the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association, the Financial Management Association, and the Southern Finance Association.  She has also been an invited guest speaker for the Hattiesburg Area Home Builder’s Association and the Mississippi Home Corporation’s conference on affordable housing.  In addition, she currently serves on the Board of Directors and as the Associate Executive Director for Web Content and Social Media for the American Real Estate Society as well as the Managing Editor for the Journal of Housing Research.

Dr. Goodwin is also highly involved in mentoring students and promoting financial literacy at the university.  She has served as a business honors house mentor, a honors thesis advisor, and the faculty advisor for the student chapter of the Financial Management Association.  As a homeschool mom, she also has a passion for introducing personal finance into the elementary and middle school curriculum.
